Entry: Boussinesq type model

URI: https://registry.epos-eu.org/ncl/FAIR-Incubator/tcs-TSU/76

Depth averaged wave model based on the Boussinesq approximation which assumes that the vertical acceleration term is small. There exists a range of different Boussinesq type models with different degree of treatment of non-linearity and frequency dispersion, from mildly non-linear and dispersive models to fully non-linear and optimized dispersion (that tackles propagation of more high frequent waves more accurately). More recently Boussinesq models have also started taking into account wave breaking and inundation.
